Well we revisited Coffs Creek on Sat 20th March, ignoring the toxic smells and the blinky fish hoping to get a few hookups and maybe even a Jack! High tide was late morning so we we didn't get onto the water until just after 9'ish in the canoe - launching from near Jonathon Close in behind Marcia St. We focussed our efforts up behind the Showground, especially around a serious rock feature in the middle of the creek. Hardbody lures worked well this day! Geoff got 2 legal flatties (biggest 40cm) and 1 undersize, while I won the session with 2 flatties (45 & 40 cm) and a Bream (25cm).
Unfortunatley I lost one of my new lures around the rocky structure - may have been a result of some pretty messy surgery retrieving the lure from deep down the gullet of the 46cm flattie - that didn't seem to recover so well when released (a very slow up-side down non-movement ... maybe it was asleep)!
No Jacks ... Geoff sending us on a wild goose chase yet again! ;-) However, at least Coffs Creek always gets us results ... even if we aren't game enough to eat anything from it!
