Quiet morning at Bonville - Sun 08 Feb

We got a fairly early start on this Sunday morning getting to the boat ramp at approx 6.30am. Geoff had been tinkering with the outboard and seemed confident he had improved its running since our last trip. Started not too bad but after a 100m or so was back to its gutless self again! Decided to give Pine Ck a miss and head up Bonville instead to the usual spots. Geoff got the 1st one and miniscule juvenile flattie (smallest I've ever seen), I was dropped by a flattie close into the boat, and Geoff picked up another flattie - undersize though. We also both got very excited by what we thought was a Jack feeding up against the bank, scrambling over eachother to get casts up into it, then realised after a couple of minutes that it was just a reddish coloured stingray! Headed up to the bridge looking for some action and found none. Motor decided it didn't want to start again (bastard),  so started paddling back around 11.30am and luckily got a tow from another boat after about 15 mins of paddling ... oh the shame! Looking forward to a more fruitful trip next time.

Note: will not be taking the boat again unless the engine is 100% gunning!
