We hit the top end boat ramp, on Boambee creek around 0830hrs on a fine Sunday morning. All be it a little a bit on the chilly side out of the sun. The tide was due to bottom out around 0900hrs so we headed downstream to work the first of the weed beds. Was very quiet with only a postage stamp sized flattie landed by yours truly. Hey at least I was not in for a Doughnut this season.
So we decided to head for the bottom section of Boambee creek to try our luck on the incoming tide. The wind proved to be quite troublesome, however the trusty electric kept us well positioned. I was the first to land a legal fish with a very nice 29cm Bream landed on a 100mm Bloodworm wriggler.
The tide had begun to push in a little more when I landed another 29cm Bream on the 100mm Bloodworm wriggler. 2 in the boat and Enzo's championship lead was gone.Enz was the next to land a fish with a 38cm Flattie landed on a Gulp Pepper Prawn.
We continued to drift upstream on the incoming tide. I managed to land a couple more undersized flatties as we drifted passed the Jew Hole and on towards the junction of Boambee & Newports Creek.
We then continued to drift up Newports creek to one of our favourite flathead spots , which did not disappoint as I landed another flattie that went 38cm on the 100mm bloodworm wriggler.
Enz was having very little success using a very suspect "blood Larva" Wriggler and decided to take charge and we motored deeper into newports creek. However his plan seemed to backfire as I was the next to land a fish with a 39cm flattie in the boat and , Enz having only landed 1 solitary fish all day.
However persistence seemed to pay off for Tonto as we passed the 1300hrs mark as, with his 100mm bloodlarva wriggler, he landed a very nice 45cm flattie . Followed shortly after by a 35cm Trevalley and another flattie that went 38cm.

Suddenly my lead for the session was erased and Enz was back in front in the championship. Enz was now starting to make suggestions that we had best head back soon , etc Blah blah Blah. To which he con endeared the boat and we scooted back up Boambee Creek chasing the incoming tide to be closer to the boat ramp as it was now getting close to 1400hrs.
In a cruel twist of fate just as we were both beginning to agree we should end the session in draw. I was hammered by what seemed a very descent fish. It ran me around the boat a little and put up a quite impressive fight. It turned out to be a 42 cm Trevalley and once landed handed me the session victory and tied up the championship with a bonus point for the new species leader for Trevalley.

So the Session was Won 5L/4L to Geoff With a bonus point awarded for the new Species leader for Trevalley.
So what were you getting printed on those T Shirts Tonto?
