... and scores are tied!

Well finally a better session on the water ... and at our trusty fishing spot on Bonville Ck. Geoff was first to see some action catching a couple of small flatties. I managed a VERY small bream using the 'shrike' (see pic) but the shrikecaster was soon retired with a nasty birdsnest! I also got myself a small trevally ... BUT the real bonus was when I landed a 29cm bream - very pleasing to see the old Silstar rod bend (my temp replacement rod) and flex and the drag grind away as it was landed. Geoff also landed a small bream and as time was running short on our Sunday morning session we headed back to the boat ramp but stopped a 100m short for a final cast about. I nearly got a small flattie to the boat before he spat it, but the tense moment was when Geoffro declared his final cast, flicked it out towards the distant weed bed and within seconds was reeeling in an unhappy little fighter. I was feeling pretty dark about this turnaround and as he got it closer in we could see it was a pretty good size bream, not 29cm but quite possibly legal! Once landed Geoff stretched it out and despite his valiant chiropratic work the fish would only stretch to 24cm! Bad luck mate ... I win! heheheh.
