Well we hit the water just after high tide (and a big one it was too) at about 9.30'ish and paddled straight up to our secret Jack hole - flicked around for quite some time ... but nuthin'! This pattern contined as we steadily drifted back down the creek. Around midday as we were getting close to our starting point Geoff got a hookup using his hard-body Scorpion - landing a nice Sandy Flathead which 'apparently' just made legal size of 36cm ... the only thing was that he was trolling at the time - that's right an "unattended line" and therefore the catch was worth no competition points. He managed exactly the same trick again about 5 minutes later with a flattie about a 1 cm smaller ... alas still no points due to the trolling (however pleasing to be catching a fish after the very slow start to the morning). We then headed downstream a bit further and jumped out and waded around the shallows for awhile, stretching the legs, but despite a bit of interest, no hookups. I managed to catch myself a large 'stick' fish and on bringing to the surface found someone else had snagged it a while ago leaving a purple-coloured hardbody lure with it - my only catch of the day!Good to be paddling on Moonee again however we are thinking about getting the boat on some bigger water next time ... maybe the Bellinger or the Kalang?
