Place of Plenty 28/12/2009

I figured as the year draws to a close and the chance of Enz and I getting on the water in the next few days being very slim a non competition related post was required.

I took my 2 friends, from Cornwall, Alex and Sam for a guided session at Bonville on a very rainy afternoon on an incoming tide. things started out very well with Alex landing an undersized Bream on his very first cast! We continued to have success with Sam landing a baby flattie at the junction of Pine & Bonville Creeks.

We headed up Bonville to drift on the incoimg tide and found a fruitful spot just past Moller drive. The rain showers continued to dampen our session however catching some fish made up for the soaking.

Alex was the first to land a legal fish. A nice 37 cm Flattie caught on a 85mm Evil minow flick bait. Sam had a couple of good hits on the lava lobby she was using but unfortunately no hook ups. We continued to to work the same area and after a change of plastic (120mm Evil minnow flick bait) Sam landed herself a very nice 44cm flattie. Our time was running out so we decided to try our drift one last time, and again Sam hooked up on a good sized fish and landed yet another 44cm flattie. With three in the bucket we decided to head home.

So still calling Bonville a dead creek Enz?
