After banishing Bonville for a while (our last session their was in February) we decided to give it another go. We hit the water about 7am on a rising tide and started out down the bottom, with an impressive washover due to the big swell. Not much happening down the bottom end so we headed up stream to the usual spots and worked on the snags and flats.
Had a fairly decent session with me picking up 2 legal flatties, 2 undersize ones and a legal bream. Bream was caught on a 65mm bloodworm wriggler (back to basics) while all of the flatties were caught on my new Atomic Hardz Crank hardbody which was very pleasing.
Geoff picked up 2 legal flatties, about 4 undersize ones and an undersize bream - with the Squidgies doing all the work. He had a go with his new Mardi Gras hardbody, but it swam like a 3-legged dog! Geoff got the prize fish of the day with a 49cm Dusky - kept for the dinner plate.
So all in all not a bad session - might head back to Bonville soon!
