The End is Nigh
Hit the water at 0800hrs ,after a long hiatus, with expectations of a good season. Big incoming tide at Boambee seemed like it could deliver a good haul of fish.
However...........the fish had other ideas.
Enz was the first to land an under sided flattie, down near the Jew hole. Then after we both got snapped off on a snag and swapped to our back up rods, my 100mm Evil minnow wriggler got hammered by a solid fish. Landed a 34cm Bream nice fish and I was on the board.
And that was about as exciting as it got for the next 4 hours.
Enz managed to land a couple of undersized flatties but that was it.
The wind was a factor I think. Proving to be very troublesome and working against the tide. It was very hot as well which served only to hasten our departure off the water. A disappointing end to what seemed to be a good time to be on the water (High tide, Warm water, couple of days after the new moon)
So the season ended with Geoff victorious 1L/Nil.
With the end of the year approaching rapidly, and the possibility of another session fairly remote. It will take more than catching a shark for the current SFC Champ to save himself from the agony of loosing the title.
The fat lady has cleared her throat, stepped onto the stage, the crowd is hushed and she is about to sing...........or is she?
