First Session 2010

Happy to report that the 2010 championship is underway. 1st session took place on Bonville Saturday 16/01/2010.

I was on the water very early (0630hrs) however the start didn't take place until Enz finally dragged himself out of bed at 0930hrs. As is usually the way with Bonville it is either on or off and we hit it on an off day. Very few fish around, especially on the end of our lines.

Turns out that a solitary 36cm flattie won the day. Fittingly I was the one that landed it. Enz managed 1(yes ONE) undersized flathead for the session. I managed to land 3 other undersized flatties.

So yet again 1 legal flattie wins the session. However a large "Jack" was spotted so a return will no doubt be required to target the trophy fish.

Some amendments were agreed to the Shrike Fishing Championship (aka SFC) as follows

  1. Mangrove Jack now worth 3 points
  2. New Species of fish caught during a SFC event regardless of size worth 1 point

Points to be noted.

Enz has rekindled his passion for his baitcaster. After a casting demonstration from me. "Nothing wrong with this set up Enz" Does need to be said damn fine reel that one. Will be a red letter day when it finally land a fish!

A new panel of advisers have taken pity on the Shrike fishermen and are imparting their much superior knowledge onto us amateurs. Hopefully 2010 will be a season of fair winds and bountiful catches. (Thanks Craig & Chris)
