We finally got back on the water after a couple of week's break and headed to Pine Ck this morning. Sun was out and the water looked surprisingly clear considering the recent weather. Gentleman's hours ... getting on to the water around 9.15am! We headed up Pine Ck to a very large old tree snag that we've had luck with before. Within 5 minutes a picked up a 32cm Trevally on a trusty 120mm 'Blood Lava' hybrid! As the day progressed so did my score, picking up 3 legal flatties (36, 37 & 38 cm) - all on the Blood Lava wriggler (on the Shrikecaster).
Geoff managed a couple of postage stamp flatties in return (heh, heh).
We also took a scoot up Bonville to drift along the bank between the railway and highway bridges - in which I nearly picked up a legal size Garfish - which had a go right as I was reeling in at the side of the boat!
The shrikecaster had to be retired for the session when I managed to produce a birdnest from hell, so had to downgrade to the lesser technology of a spinrod.
As our session drew to a close Geoffro finally bagged himself a flattie that just scraped over the line, avoiding a 'doh'-nut score! I then rebutted with a 39cm flattie to return my session lead of 4 points.
Got off the water around 2.20pm.
What can I say, an excellent day's work on the water.

Forgot to mention that the new battery Geoff installed for the electric worked a treat.
