Well we finally got back on the water last Sunday, 27 Mar 11. We hit Bonville Ck at around 8.30am (gentlemen's hours) on a dropping tide. Fished the bottom end for a while - nothing. Moved a bit further up the creek - nothing. Headed up to the section around the National Parks pontoon - nothing! Well not exactly nothing we did see a 'small' shark (about 1m) cruising along - some mad casts to try entice it ... nothing! We also had the distraction of some youngsters in a 40hp outfit waveboarding - rather annoying until the girlfriend stripped to her bra and panties to have a go, no upper body strength - and again nothing! We steadily made our way back down towards the mouth and after hours of casting and whinging, I finally landed an undersize flattie ... WOO HOO! Actually I had nearly caught a decent legal flattie about an hour earlier but it snapped off as it went under the boat - very pissed off about that. Anyway, with me with a point, Geoffro became very motivated to get something in the boat ... but alas he succeeded in a very satisfying donut ;-)
A convincing win for me and Geoff's lead neatly halved.
